Guchan or Quchan carpets originate from the eastern region of Khorasan, and are knotted by the Kurdish population of the territory (different from the Kurdish population of Kurdistan). The colors used are very intense and bright. The design is geometric with inspirations from the Turkmen and other nomadic motifs of the region. The warp and weft are in cotton while the wool pile has a medium-low shear.
