Gabbeh are born in the vast area that goes from the Chahar Mahal Bakthiari chain to the Fars region and are made by the nomadic populations of the area. The word gabbeh, in Farsi, means “blunt, coarse”, so their name does not refer to their origin but to the type of Persian carpet. Its main characteristics are: the material, always and exclusively pure wool, the coarse knot, the geometric designs of naturalistic inspiration and last but not least the vital and brilliant colors that distinguish them.
